Concrete Sawing
Concrete sawing has long been used in various construction sites and over time, the basic concepts have remained pretty much the same except concrete sawing equipment & technology has advanced at quite a rate leading to numerous, road, floor, wall & wire sawing angles of approach to any concrete cutting tasks. It involves the use of various powered concrete saws along with a vast array of diamond blades depending on the density of the material & amount of steel content in the concrete being cut. Concrete saw’s can be powered by petrol, hydraulic, LPG of electrical motors depending on the situation & access of the area to be cut on the construction site. Concrete sawing is the most cost efficient & productive way to remove a section of concrete, brick, asphalt, limestone etc, without causing damage to the remaining structure by completely separating with a saw cut.
A Brief Discussion on Concrete Drilling
Core drilling refers to the mechanical process that is designed to drill small or large holes through all masonry types of building materials & rock, to insert all services, for core samples or just too simply remove concrete. Core drills are run by numerous types of core drilling rigs.
The core drill bits are composed of a steel tube with diamond segments laser welded on its drilling end. Their sizes can range in diameter from 12 mm to 1 metre and drilling depths is almost boundless with the help of extensions. It is often anchored to the surface with the aid of bolts or through vacuum suction. The diamond segment rotates as water feed passes through the centre to lubricate and prevent overheating the segments. There are also various types of hand held core drills.
Core drilling is applied whenever the core has to be preserved or when drilling requires a specific core hole size for a specific application. This is the main reason why diamond-tipped core drills are typically employed on construction sites where core holes are needed for water system applications, heating system applications, electrical system applications, gas supply system applications, plumbing applications, mechanical penetrations and other precise circular penetration through all concrete & masonry materials.
